Jeff Williams

Jeff Williams fuses multiple cultures, time periods, and styles within his work. Layer upon layer of anachronism and a rhythm of an eclectic historicity achieve a beautiful dissonance as thug life meets bug life, neanderthal meets robo-automaton, and punk flair meets sacred. Painted in a style that is reminiscent of graffiti and tattoo art, Williams oftentimes finds himself navigating serious and at times near indigestible themes-the dawn and history of man, the death of nature by humanity’s will to fulfill its destiny, and cultural stereotypes, caricatures, and isms. Williams’ paintings turn up the music over a wake, providing frenzied, candied colors whose hard edges bely a serious and mature intent.
