Delinda Chapman

My work is done in series for the most part—Music, Lovers, Z to A, Kaleidoscope, People, Zen, Immigration; in different media—mixed, acrylic, collage; on different surfaces—canvas, watercolor paper, watercolor paper on canvas, paper bags, wood, Masonite; and different styles—abstract expressionism, impressionism, and comic expressionism to coin my own term. I love the freedom I feel when painting. I let the spirit move me during my work which excites and calms me at the same time. The intuitive process plays a big role in my painting. What more could I ask than to be creating? As Roderick W. MacIver says, “Before work, an artist needs to make contact. Contact! Make contact with the mysterious, powerful entities that underlie existence, whatever you perceive them to be.”
