Phil Locascio

My main focus during the years of my employment was on fiction writing. During that period I wrote and had published some 70 short stories and 6 novels. Throughout that time I only dabbled in pastel painting. But when I retired I told my wife I was going to try my hand at painting. I took a pastel painting class and soon found a niche for myself. To my great surprise I found that I had a certain style that people seemed to like. I also developed what I call my 3D style in which I work in a shadow box painting each part of the work separately, cutting it out and glueing them together to make the overall piece. I found I really liked working that way and because it was a unique style found a separate identity for my work. I work almost exclusively in that style now but occasionally take on 2D projects on commission. You can find examples of my art, my writing and contact me via my website at
