About us.

The Pharmacy Gallery and Art Space was formed by 13 visual artists in 2011 inside the old Watt Brother’s Pharmacy, in Springfield Illinois; hence, our name. Our goals expanded into more community involvement and the space was outgrown within two years. We outgrew our second historic building within 4 years.  In 2018 we planted ourselves in the Staley Building, a wonderful space that allows us to contribute to the continued revitalization of downtown Springfield.

Mission:
The mission of the Pharmacy Gallery & Art Space is to cultivate and celebrate expressions of multidimensional artists. We strive to be a catalyst and forum for advancing, discovering, and connecting through contemporary art. We enrich and educate the community through innovative cultural events.

The Pharmacy Gallery and Art Space is a 501 c 3 membership organization run exclusively by its juried member artists. We are funded by contributions from our members and donations from our supporters. We are grateful recipients of a grant from the Illinois Arts Council through federal funds provided by the National Endowment of the Arts and with funding from the Springfield Area Arts Council and the Community Foundation for the Land Of Lincoln.

The Pharmacy is located at:
