Biography

Sarah Thomas is an Illinois-based stained glass artist who launched her artistic career in 2022. Working primarily with vintage deadstock glass and glass from long-standing manufacturers, Sarah breathes new life into materials rich with history, seamlessly blending their stories with her artistry in every design.

Artist Statement

My favorite aspect of my work is when the glass comes alive, dancing in the light, offering a dynamic interplay that transforms my work into separate pieces of art: the piece itself and its refraction. My goal with my art extends beyond the mere visual; it’s about creating an immersive experience for the viewer. I aim to evoke a range of emotions, from a sense of wonder and joy to introspective and contemplation.I believe art at its core, should be a channel for emotional connection, sparking a dialogue between the pieces and its observer, inviting them to explore the depths of their perceptions.
